New Hampshire 2016

New Hampshire- White Mountains
Our non-RV travel this year was a very delightful week spent in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  We have always wanted to RV to the Northeast in the Fall to see the trees in full color but finally realized that we were never going to do it in the RV so we flew and stayed in a hotel.  Our base was in quaint Franconia and we visited the summit of Mt Washington, riding the famous Mount Washington Cog Railway.  We drove the beautiful Kancamagus Highway along the river and saw several covered bridges, took the aerial tram up Cannon Mountain and walked the Flume in Franconia Notch State Park.  We were both very impressed with the ruggedness and beauty of this part of the country.  We made a short trip into Vermont and bought some genuine Vermont maple syrup, but it was confiscated by TSA at the airport because we forgot to put it in a checked bag.
