2008 The Entire Family at Ponderosa Campground, Colorado

Archives

In July 2008 the entire family went to Albuquerque for Carol's dad's 90th birthday followed by our annual trip to Ponderosa Campground, Colorado.

Ponderosa Campground is on Highway 17 about 20 miles West of Antonito, Colorado, in the National Forest and on the Conjeos River.  We've been going to Ponderosa since we got the RV in 2005.  Carol's brother Gary has been coming to this area annually for about 20 years and told us about it.  Gary and his family come at the same time along with friends from Albuquerque.  The campground has many RV spaces and a few cabins.

Stephen and Amy took a cabin while Annette and Richie, and Suzanne and Shane opted for tents.  Unfortunately, not everyone had nice warm sleeping bags and it does get COLD above 8000 feet in the Colorado mountains - even in July!  Thanks to Richie we had a nice warm fire very early every morning.  Nevertheless, I think everyone had a great time and are likely to come back in the future.  We even made smores!
